Why I Love Teaching

As a School Social Worker, I have the unique position of working with students K-12. I get to meet families often in need of extra support and continue to work with them as they grow. It is a great pleasure of mine to hear people’s truth, and I don’t take that for granted. Our jobs are really hard some days. I am lucky to have a village of Student Services colleagues to work with, and it takes a village y’all!

About Me

II get to do life with my sweet husband, Dave, and our adorable 2 year old daughter, Maddison. I was born and raised in Stone Mountain, GA and continue to cheer on the Atlanta Braves alongside my Philly sports loving family. I love anything orange and purple for my alma mater Clemson University, Go Tigers! We love traveling to Cape May and Hilton Head Island with our families.

From Her Colleagues

Steph may be the North side social worker, but she is always willing to lend a hand district-wide. Steph is pivotal in having the Holiday Program meet the needs of participating CR families – from food, to presents, to gift cards, and a holiday experience. She provides support to students experiencing mental health crisis and helps families navigate support systems. She is the ultimate team member!
